...I remember hearing of Aspartame the first time when I was approx 11 years old....a schoolfriend of mine told me at that time that her brother in law (who was a chemist) did some testing on Aspartame. After the testing he told my friend to never use it...as it stays in the body and serves as poison. It was the way she told me this story that touched me deeply and  thus always stayed away from that stuff...I tried it once and thought that it tasted 'akward'...and had a strange aftertaste...
